Physical Therapy
Physical therapy is the treatment of disability and pain through physical means such as exercise, heat,
cold, electricity, etc. It can help a patient recover from an illness, injury or surgery or it can help
to maintain mobility in people with disabilities and birth defects. Treatments can help a patient gain
strength, relieve pain, regain use of an affected limb or relearn daily living activities such as
walking, dressing or bathing.
With modern equipment and continuing education, the physical therapy department strives to offer the
most up-to-date technology used in the field. Some of the treatments available include EMG, ultrasound,
hydrotherapy, shortwave diathermy, electrical stimulation and computerized isokinetic testing.
